Opportunities for Progress

Faculty leaders at the Cardiovascular Research Institute have identified research opportunities for progress against cardiovascular disease. Collaborative groups of CVRI scientists, including basic science researchers and physician-scientists, are already exploring these areas, and the CVRI is recruiting additional faculty to augment these teams. Each program will eventually be concentrated in a multidisciplinary “neighborhood” in the new cardiovascular research building being developed at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus. Examples of current work and envisioned collaborations within each area follow.
