The Roe Lab engineers programmable protein backbone editing strategies that harness acyl chemistry to expand the chemical diversity accessible within expressed proteins. By combining genetic code expansion, mechanistic chemistry, and biophysical analysis, we develop simple, site-selective tools compatible with therapeutic discovery workflows. Our work aims to unlock new design principles for next-generation biologics.
