Research Interests:
Chromatin structure and function during vertebrate embryogenesis

Research Summary:
Our lab is interested in understanding how nanoscale organization emerges within the nucleus during early development. After fertilization, zygotes undergo dramatic reprogramming to achieve totipotency and then go on to form all cell types of the adult organism. We are using nanoscale imaging techniques to visualize and measure how chromatin and nuclear factors are reorganized during this transition from totipotency to differentiation to better understand nuclear organization effects cell fate.
